History of Ku Pa'a ILoko Kona Lima

Ku Pa'a ILiko Kona Lima is a church deeply rooted in sharing God’s love, proclaiming His truth, and encouraging all who step through our Tabernacle. Founded in 2003 by Kahu (Pastor) Luciano “Sam” Bustillos, a licensed minister with Mercy Ministries International, and his wife, Kahu (Pastor) Lotuvale Bustillos, also a licensed minister, the church was born out of their shared passion for imparting God’s love, nurturing spiritual growth, and inspiring hearts with genuine aloha.

What began as a small bible study in their home with close 'ohana soon became a thriving congregation as friends and neighbors joined. In those early days, the bible study grew from their living room to a small tent in their yard, which eventually expanded to a 20x40 gathering space. Under this humble canopy, countless lives have been touched through Sunday services, children’s ministries, water baptisms, weddings, baby dedications, and prayer, praise, and worship.

In 2009, Pastor Sam’s vision for revival came to life with the first revival held at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center. Today, this annual revival continues each March at the Kekaha Boat Harbor, transforming lives and honoring Pastor Sam’s God-given vision and enduring legacy.

Although Pastor Sam has gone to be with the Lord, his unwavering faith and dedication remain the foundation of Ku Pa'a ILiko Kona Lima. His legacy shapes the church’s ministry, inspiring leaders and the congregation to carry his vision forward with purpose and devotion. Now led by his wife, Pastor Lotu Bustillos, alongside Assistant Pastor Wesley Kanahele, Joseph Bustillos (Kahu Ho'okipa), Elder Lambert Kaohelauli'i, and the Ku Pa'a 'Ohana, the church remains committed to honoring God, equipping believers, and creating a loving community where all are welcome and transformed by the Spirit of God.

As we gather to sing, pray, worship, and study God’s Word, our deepest desire is His love, joy, peace, and hope to fill your heart. We pray that you leave knowing His love for you surpasses anything and everything. May you be blessed by His kindness, protection, and presence.

We look forward to welcoming you into our ʻohana and walking alongside you on your faith journey. Aloha Ke Akua, and blessings to you always!
